The Bali Fintech Investor Club is a membership for investors who want organised access to Bali and Indonesia fintech deal flow: sourced companies, structured briefing notes, and founder sessions arranged by our team, in place of the scattered introductions that normally arrive through group chats and conference corridors. Membership provides access and information only. Every investment decision, every valuation judgement and every legal or tax question remains with the member and the member’s own licensed advisers.
What do members actually receive?
The core of the club is sourcing work that individual investors rarely have time to do themselves, because covering an emerging ecosystem properly means tracking companies that are not yet visible in any database. Our team maintains contact with founders across payments, lending, remittance, digital assets, insurance-adjacent products and financial infrastructure, and prepares written material on the ones that pass an internal screen.
- Briefing notes on screened Bali and Indonesia fintech companies, prepared by our team.
- Founder sessions where members can question the team directly.
- Introductions to founders when a member expresses genuine interest.
- Ecosystem updates covering sector movement, entrant patterns and regulatory themes.
- Access to peers reviewing the same market, which shortens diligence conversations.
What members do not receive is a recommendation. We do not rate companies, publish target returns, promise allocations, or tell any member what to buy. Notes describe what a company does, what it claims, what we verified, and what remains unverified, and the last category is always stated explicitly.
Who should join, and who should not?
The club suits investors who already deploy capital into early-stage private companies and understand the loss profile that comes with it, since early-stage fintech carries a high probability of total loss on any single position. Angels building Southeast Asian exposure, family office representatives covering Indonesia, and operator-investors from banking or payments backgrounds are the typical profile.
It is not suitable for anyone seeking income, capital preservation, guaranteed outcomes, or exposure they cannot afford to write off entirely. It is also not suitable for anyone who wants somebody else to make the decision. If you are looking for a managed product or personal financial planning, speak to a licensed investment adviser in your own jurisdiction instead; this club is neither.
How does deal flow reach members?
| Stage | What our team does | What the member does |
|---|---|---|
| Sourcing | Maintains founder contact across the ecosystem | States sector and stage interests |
| Screening | Applies a documented internal screen | Reviews screen criteria and disagrees where warranted |
| Briefing | Prepares a note separating verified from claimed | Reads and decides whether to look further |
| Session | Arranges the founder session | Questions the team directly |
| Diligence | Passes on documents the company provides | Runs independent diligence with own advisers |
| Decision | Nothing | Negotiates and decides alone |
The final row is the important one. Our involvement stops before the decision, and we do not receive discretion over member capital at any point.
Regulatory position and risk statement
Financial services in Indonesia are supervised primarily by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan and Bank Indonesia, depending on the activity a company performs, and cross-border investors are additionally bound by the rules of their own jurisdiction. Bali Fintech Hub is an independent information and networking service. It is not a licensed broker, fund manager, investment adviser or placement agent, and it does not hold, manage or transfer member funds.
Nothing on this page or in club material is investment, legal, accounting or tax advice, and nothing constitutes an offer or solicitation to buy securities. Early-stage investments are illiquid, frequently fail, and can lose their entire value. Past performance of any company or sector says nothing about future outcomes. Members should verify a company’s regulatory status with the responsible authority and engage their own counsel, accountants and licensed advisers before committing capital.
Membership terms
Membership is reviewed rather than sold on demand, because the value of the room depends on who is in it. We ask new applicants about investment history, typical ticket size, sectors of interest and jurisdiction, and we decline applications that do not fit. Fees, term length and access levels are quoted per applicant and confirmed in writing before anything begins; we do not publish a fixed price list here because the scope differs between individual angels and institutional participants.
Members frequently combine the club with adjacent services. Deal origination on the platform side runs through the bali fintech investment matching service, ecosystem-wide access sits under bali fintech hub membership, and investors who want to back companies they help construct usually look at the bali venture studio model.

Frequently asked questions
Does the club recommend which companies to invest in?
No. Briefing notes describe what a company does, what it claims, what our team verified and what remains unverified, but they carry no rating, target return or recommendation. The club provides access and structured information; the analysis that leads to a decision belongs to the member and the member’s own advisers. Any service promising recommended winners in early-stage fintech is selling confidence, not research.
Does the club hold or manage member money?
No. Bali Fintech Hub does not receive, hold, pool or transfer investment capital, and it exercises no discretion over member funds. Transactions happen directly between the member and the company, on terms the member negotiates, using the member’s own advisers and banking arrangements. The club is an information and networking service, not a fund, broker or licensed investment manager.
Can foreign investors participate in Indonesian fintech deals?
Foreign participation is common, but the permitted structure depends on the specific activity, current Indonesian foreign-ownership rules, and the investor’s home jurisdiction. Those rules change and are published by the responsible authorities. We flag the questions a structure raises; we do not answer them for you. Confirm your position with licensed Indonesian counsel and with advisers in your own jurisdiction before proceeding.
What ticket sizes do members typically write?
Ticket sizes vary widely across the membership, from individual angel cheques to larger allocations from family offices and institutional participants, and companies presented range from early rounds to growth stages accordingly. We ask about your typical range during the application so briefing notes match your mandate. There is no obligation to invest in anything the club sources, ever.
